Eco-Friendly Aluminum
Aluminum: Eco-Friendly Metal
Aluminum is recognized as process-friendly, corrosion resistant with low magnetic properties. This lightweight metal – one third lighter than iron- allows downsizing and lightening of automobile parts, electronics and other products. Recycled aluminum provides an effective use of resources; while at the same time reduces waste and energy savings. Recycling aluminum requires only 3% of energy use versus for non-recycled aluminum. Today, over 90% of aluminum used in Japan is recycled.
TOP 3 Aluminum’s Eco-Friendly Properties
Aluminum is approximately one third lighter than iron and much lighter than the other metals such as bronze and steel. Aluminum is utilized for various products with lighter and smaller parts; while at the same time, expanding its use as eco-friendly product demand increases.
Using a product for a long period is one of the important environmental activities. Recent developed aluminum alloys are process-friendly and high durable. They are applied for architectural materials, electronics, and furniture, but also long-life products like ships, aircrafts, and bullet trains.
Aluminum’s biggest property is its high recyclability. Recycling aluminum achieves effective use of limited natural resources, waste reduction, and energy saving.
