Technology
Integrated production system and sophisticated technologies
Hondalex Group’s integrated production line covers aluminum alloy castings, extrusions, anodizing, and processes to satisfy a diverse aluminum market for fabricated parts, materials, and wrought products.
Billet
Various kinds of metals and materials are mixed for the best aluminum alloys for each product to make a billet, an aluminum bar to make extruded aluminum shapes.
Billet Manufacturing Process
Ingot
Aluminum raw materials are called an ingot. Recycled aluminum ingots are used widely in addition to new ingots from bauxite.
Casting
Aluminum ingots are blended with additives in a melting furnace to make suitable aluminum alloys for the intended use, then casted into dies and set.
Billet
A billet is a casted alloy into column shape to make an extruded shape through extrusion process, extruding heated billets with extrusion machines.
Die
A die is a key-determining factor of the quality of extruded shapes. Many sections work together from design to production requiring proficient skill and technical sophistication.
Die Design and Manufacturing Technology

Polishing
Polishing the surface and die production completed.
Extrusion
Putting pressure on heated billet with an extrusion machine to form aluminum alloys into the mold shape. Extrusion – the most suitable processing method for soft metal like aluminum – enables to manufacture complicated cross-section shapes easily. Cut off extruded shapes and send to the next position.
Extrusion Machines
Hondalex’s multiple extrusion lines capable of 690- 2,500 tons, operating 24 hours as required, meet diverse needs with small size lot of diversified production system at factories in Japan and low-cost mass production system in oversea factories. Extrusion machine options guarantees superior products.
Anodizing
Passivation and anodizing extruded aluminum shapes are applied to improve their endurance and surface fineness by removing remnant oil and native oxide layer, and dipping into electrolysis solution for anodic oxide coating. Extruded shapes are colored with electrolytic coloring method.
Features of Anodizing
All the aluminum products are required to be anodized to prevent tarnish and corrosion. The typical surface treatment is an oxidized coating that requires dipping the aluminum into sulfuric acid for electrolytic treatment.
Fabrication
Extruded shapes are sent to the process line for cutting, drilling, and bending. As parts become lighter and more sophisticated, precision aluminum process technologies are required. Our technical team strives to offer the best product.
Notch and Drilling
Our precision technologies make compound angle cut and intricate hole drilling possible.
Bending
Pulling and bending operations with constant power provide a beautiful form on extruded aluminum.
Welding
Laser beam welding enables quick and ingenious welding.
Final Inspection and Shipping
Shipping is authorized after material test and inspection.
